CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Notre Dame indoor track and field program had 43 student-athletes earn Academic All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors as announced by the league office Tuesday. They were led by Jadin O’Brien, who was named the ACC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
O’Brien capped a stellar indoor season by winning gold in the pentathlon at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. She became the first woman to repeat as the pentathlon champion since 2016-17. During the NCAA meet, O’Brien set a facility record at the TRACK at new balance as she finished with a score of 4497 points, surpassing her previous facility record of 4329, set during the 2024 ACC Championships. The Pewaukee, Wisconsin, native also won gold in the pentathlon during the ACC Championships in back-to-back-to-back seasons.
A four-time selection to the All-ACC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Academic Team and a member of the ACC Honor Roll each of her first three collegiate seasons, O’Brien is pursuing an undergraduate degree in American Studies.
