WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish competed in the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday, April 19, hosted at Kentner Stadium.
Notre Dame took home eight top-10 finishes as Gretchen Farley secured a first place finish in the women’s 800m with Kate McAndrew finishing tenths of seconds right behind Farley for a second place finish. Kaleigh Gunsiorowski also finished ninth in the event. Claire Sievern finished 8th in the 800m invite, running a 2:03.92.
Olivia Markezich placed second in the women’s 3000m steeplechase as she ran a 9:36.33 and currently leads the ACC in the event. Not only did Farley finish second in the 800m, but she also finished in the top ten in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:23.11. In the women’s 1500m race, Molly Grant had a fourth place finish in the event.
On the men’s side, Daelen Ackley finished tenth in the 1500m race with a time of 3:40.77.
