BOSTON, Mass. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish competed in the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 2.
It was a big day for Olivia Markezich, who continues to impress as she not only placed first in the 3000m race, but did it in dominating fashion. She opened up the indoor season with a time of 8:40.42, breaking her own school record in 3k which was previously set last season as she ran an 8:50.08. Her time of 8:40.42 also ranked second in the NCAA in the 3k race.
Running in the 5000m race, Siona Chisholm ran a 15:54.02, followed by Erin Strzelecki with a time of 16:39.30.
In the men’s 5000m, Ethan Coleman led the way as he recorded a personal best with a time of 13:49.03. He was followed by Tyler Berg, who ran a 13:52.84 in the 5000m.
