New Orleans, La. – The Notre Dame women’s golf team took home a fourth place finish at the Tulane Classic hosted at English Turn Golf and Country Club as they were led by graduate student Lauren Beaudreau, who took home the individual runner-up finish.
“We played a lot of good golf this week and it was a great experience for our team to be in contention,” said head coach Caroline Powers Ellis. “Lots of learning moments to work through and I am confident these will make us better in the long run.”
Beaudreau finished the event shooting a 215 (-1) with her best golf in the opening round as she shot a 70 (-2), followed by 71 (-1) in round two and a 74 (+3) in round three.
“Lauren is going to have a chance to win every week,” said Powers Ellis.“She is so solid in every area and can compete with anyone out there. It’s exciting to be a part of her journey and I can’t wait to see what this final stretch of the spring has in store for her and our team.”
The women’s team will have one last regular season tournament before heading into AC’s as they travel to Dornick Hills Country Club to compete in the Bruzzy March 30-31.
