TOLEDO, Ohio – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish competed at the Glass CIty Invitational hosted by the University of Toledo at the Inverness Club.
The Irish finished eighth with a collective score of 908 (+44) as they were led by freshman Mimi Burton, who finished T13, her best finish of her career thus far. She shot a 220 (+4) with her best round coming in round two as recorded a 70 (-2). Burton finished with seven birdies, five of which came in the second round.
She was followed by graduate student Lauren Beaudreau, who shot a 224 (+8) and finished T18. Beaudreau’s third round was her lowest of the tournament, as she shot a 73 and finished with nine birdies across the three rounds.
“It was a true privilege to play at Inverness Club this week with its mint conditions and rich history of championships,” said head coach Caroline Powers Ellis. “Mimi played awesome and handled the tough course conditions like a pro. We played a lot of good holes, but needed to manage our mistakes better down the stretch. This team has a ton of potential and we are looking forward to finishing our fall season strong in our last two events.”
