WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish wrapped up the 2024 ACC tournament on Saturday as they competed at the Porters Neck Country Club April 17-19.
While the top four teams advance to match play on Sunday, April 21, the Irish concluded their run in the tournament on Saturday with a final score of 890 (+26) in stroke play.
Senior Chloe Schiavone led the way for the Irish with a T17 finish as she shot an even 216 on the tournament. Her best rounds came in the first and third as she shot a 71 (-1) in each, with a 74 (+2) in the second round. She finished with 10 birdies in stroke play.
Graduate Lauren Beaudreau finished just behind Schiavone with a score of 217 (+1) as she placed T20. Despite shooting a 76 (+4) in round one, Beaudreau had a strong performance in rounds two and three, shooting a 71 (-1) and 70 (-2) respectively. She finished with five birdies and an Eagle across the three rounds.
“Our preparation leading into the championship at Porters Neck was spot on,” said head coach Caroline Powers Ellis. “This week we just didn’t execute as we needed to in order to have success. Porters Neck is a great venue for a championship and the ACC Women’s Golf Championship is one of the toughest tournaments in all of college golf. We are already looking ahead to next year and are motivated to keep working.”
