INDEPENDENCE, Minn. – The Notre Dame men’s golf team wrapped up their second tournament of the fall with an eighth place finish at Gopher Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 10 and Monday, Sept. 11 at the Windsong Farm Golf Club. The Irish shot an 857 (+3) on the tournament with their best collective round coming on Sunday as Notre Dame shot a 278 (-6) as a team in round two.
Notre Dame was led by freshman Jacob Modleski, who had his best career finish in his second tournament with the Irish. Modleski tabbed a fourth place finish, shooting a 209 (-4) on the tournament. The freshman shot an even 71 in round one, a 70 (-1) in round two, and a team-best round three score of 68 (-3). He also finished with 13 birdies.
Graduate Palmer Jackson finished T18 as he shot a 214 (+1) in the invitational. Jackson led the Irish in round two as he scored a 67 (-4) and recorded six birdies in his best round of the tournament.
The Irish are back in action at the Windon Memorial Classic at the Sunset Ridge Country Club on Sept. 25-26.
