CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish men’s golf team finished seventh in the 2024 ACC Championships as they completed stroke play on Sunday, April 21. Over the three rounds, the Irish went 286, 282, 293, for a collective team score of 861 (+9).
Freshman Jacob Modleski led the way for the Irish in his first ACC Championship as he finished 11th, shooting 71, 69, 72. Shooting a 212 (-1), Modleski finished with 11 birdies in the event. He was followed by senior Angelo Marcon, who finished T18. Recording 14 birdies, Marcon shot a 71, 73, 70, for a final score of 214 (+1).
“We have a very strong team and I’m proud of their fight this week,” said Head Coach and Director of Golf John Handrigan. “We didn’t play to our standards, but we gave it our all and that’s all I can ask for as a coach. Our competitiveness will serve us well at NCAA’s and we are hungry to get back to work.”
