Sam Rich 2022-23 Cross Country Roster

AS A SOPHOMORE (2023-24)

• Ran in five meets, recording PR’s in the 5 mile (25:15.1) and 6k (18:30.6)
• Opened up the season with a 13th place finish in the 6k, running a 18:30.6  in the Winrow-Valparaiso Open
• Clocked a 25:15.1 in the 5 mile at the Joe Piane Invitational

AS A FRESHMAN (2022-23)

• Did not compete his freshman year

PREP AND PERSONAL

• Holds PR’s in the mile (4:10.28), the 3200 (8:55.78), and the 5K (14:38.71)
• Was the 2021 and 2022 South Carolina Gatorade Cross Country Athlete of the Year, and the 2021 South Carolina USA Today Cross Country Athlete of the Year
• Named to the US First Team for High School Cross Country and Track
• Was the Adidas Indoor Nationals Two Mile Champion and All American in 2021
• The SCHSL 4A Cross Country State Champion (Fall 2020 and 2021), the SCHSL 4A 3200m Track State Champion (Spring 2021), and the SCHSL 1600m Track State Champion (Spring 2021)
• Named the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Two Mile Freshman National Champion in 2019
•  Was the GHSA 6A Runner up Cross Country (Fall 2019), the GHSA 6A 4th Place Two Mile (Spring 2019), and the GHSA 6A 7th Place Mile (Spring 2019)
• Named the Catawba Ridge Most Valuable Runner in 2020 and 2021 and the Lakeside Most Valuable Runner Cross Country and Track Team in 2019
