SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish wrapped up their final home meet of the season as they hosted the 2023 Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Sept. 29.
The Notre Dame men’s team took first place in the men’s blue five mile race, while the women’s team placed second in the women’s blue 5k race.
Men’s Five Mile Results | Blue | Open | Gold
Josh Menther led the Irish as he ran a personal-best time of 23:27.2 in the men’s five mile. He was followed by CJ Singleton, who also set a personal record after running a 23:45.9. Ethan Coleman, Tyler Berg, and Jake Renfree also set PRs in the five mile at the Joe Piane Invite.

The Irish men’s team also took first place in the men’s gold five mile race as Vincent Mauri placed first with a time of 24:10.7. He was followed by Tom Seitzer who ran a 24:34.4 and placed sixth. Rishabh Prakash (24:39.2 – 11th), Daelen Ackley (25:02.3 – 27th), John Schuler (25:07.7 – 38th), Sam Rich (25:15.1 – 42nd) and Lucke Schildmeyer (25:24.3 – 50th) also finished for the Irish in the men’s gold five mile.

The women’s team was led by Siona Chisholm, who finished with a personal record of 16:26.4 in the women’s 5k race. She was followed by Olivia Markezich with a time of 16:31.6 and Andrea Markezich, who also set a PR of 16:42.4. Grace Schager (16:47.8) and Caroline Lehman (17:28.7) also set PRs in the 5k of the Joe Piane Invite.
