  • Season cut short due to knee injury suffered in regular season finale at Louisville
  • Led Notre Dame with 7.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Ranked second with 14.3 points

  • Became the first men’s or women’s player in NCAA Tournament history to record a triple-double in the NCAA Tournament as a freshman – in her debut no less. Miles recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists against UMass. Overall, it marked just the 18th triple-double in the women’s tourney and the 2nd by an Irish player (Skylar Diggins-Smith in 2011).
  • Against NC State in the Sweet 16 – Miles became the first ND freshman with at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists in an NCAA Tournament game. Miles finished with 21p/6r/6a.
  • 29 assists in NCAA Tournament – 3rd most by a player through their first three Tourney games since at least 2000. However, her 23 total assists over the first and second rounds were the most by a women’s player over their first two NCAA Tournament games.
  • Averaged a near triple-double in the NCAA Tournament: 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 9.7 assists.
  • Led the Irish in scoring (13.7), was 2nd in the nation in assists (7.4) and 7th in the ACC in steals (1.8) and reeled in 5.7 boards/game as well.
  • First Irish player with back-to-back 10+ assist games since Jackie Young (12 & 11) on March 3, 2019. Miles dished out 11 vs UMass and 12 vs Oklahoma.
  • Dished out over 200 assists this season, becoming the 5th different Irish to do so – joining Lindsay Allen, Niele Ivey, Mary Gavin and Skylar Diggins-Smith. Her 244 assists ranked 3rd all-time for a single season.
  • Miles and Iowa’s Caitlin Clark were the only players in the country to average 13p/5r/7a.
  • Collected 9 double-doubles  -> 3 via points/rebounds + 4 via points/assists + 2 triple-doubles. Her 9 ranked 5th in the ACC.
  • Her 7.4 assists/game ranked 4th all-time in program history. Top-three spots belong to Lindsay Allen (7.6) and Mary Gavin (7.9 & 8.6). However, she did shatter the freshman ND assist record of 4.5 by Mary Gavin in 1984-85.
  • Miles boasts 8 double-digit assist performances on the year. All other players in the ACC had combined for 4.
  • Big 13-point, 6-rebound, 5-assist game in win over No. 3 NC State. Miles hit 2 clutch free throws that ultimately won it in the final 1:20 of the game.
  • Career high 30 points + 6 assists in win over BC on Jan. 30 – was named ACC Player of the Week for the first time. 5th different Irish freshman to score 30 or more points in a game. 4th different Irish player to record a 30-point, 5+ assist performance, joining Diggins-Smith, Loyd and Ogunbowale.
  • Became the 4th Irish player ever to record a 20+ point, 10+ assist double-double. The other 3 were Skylar Diggins-Smith, Marina Mabrey and Jackie Young. Miles had 21 points, 11 assists, 6 rebounds and a career high 6 steals vs Pitt on Dec. 19.  
  • Triple-double at Valpo on Dec. 8 (11p/13r/13a) –  2nd ever Irish freshman to do so, joining Marina Mabrey.  
  • Defensive threat: led the team with her 1.8 steals/game, which ranked 7th in the ACC. Miles averaged 2.2 spg in ACC play, which ranked 2nd in the league.  
  • First freshman to start season opener at point guard since Lindsay Allen in 2013. Before Allen, it was Mollie Peirick who cracked the lineup on Nov. 26, 1994.

EARLY ENROLLEE SEASON (2020-21)

  • Named to 2021 Jordan Brand Classic
  • First early enrollee ever at Notre Dame
  • After clearing covid protocols, Miles began practicing with the team on Jan. 26. Had just 3 practices under her belt before playing at Syracuse. Also had her 18th birthday on Jan. 29.
  • Immediate Impact: Ended season with 5 straight games in double figures, totaling 52 points (10.4 ppg).
  • Her 9.3 ppg ranked as the 4th highest on the team. Also averaged 3.5 apg, which would rank 1st.
  • Methodical and efficient shooting approach — shot 24-of-47 (.511) from the field on the short season.
  • After returning from team Covid pause aka last 4 games – Olivia boasted the 2nd highest scoring average with her 10.5 ppg. Also averaged an impressive 4.8 apg in that stretch.
  • Into the Fire: 4 out of the 6 games she played were against top-5 seeds in the ACC tournament, including two against top-5 ranked Louisville.
  • Ended the year with a near double-double against Clemson on March 4, securing 10 points and a career-best 8 assists.
  • Back-to-back games of a season-high 11 points, last doing so against Louisville on Feb. 28.
  • Season highs in points (11) and rebounds (8) against Florida State on Feb. 25
  • In game No. 2, against the No. 1 team in the country, Miles scored 6 straight points in the 3rd quarter for the Irish before finishing with 10 points. She did it on efficient 5-of-8 shooting.

PREP AND PERSONAL

  • Miles and Sonia Citron made up Coach Ivey’s first recruiting class, which ranked in the top-5 nationally
  • Ranked No. 8 overall by espnW in Class of 2020 and the No. 2 point guard
  • Attended Blair Academy.
  • Was on the 2020 Naismith Midseason Watch List for high school girls basketball before making early-enrollment announcement – it recognizes the top-25 prep players.
  • Earned First Team All-State all three years

  • Averaged 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.6 assists as a junior
  • Guided Blair to a Prep A state championship in 2020, its first since 2017

  • Highlight of prep career was scoring her 1,000th career point
  • Played AAU with the Philadelphia Belles with Citron
    • Won the Nike Girls EYBL in Indianapolis in June of 2019 with the Belles
  • In a January ESPN.com feature about Miles, author John Weinfuss described her as having “Sue Bird-like vision, Steve Nash-like smoothness and a Diana Taurasi-like ability to bully fellow guards with her size.”

Her handle is second-to-none in this class, while her ability to convert at the rim, and consistently knock down both mid-range and 3-point shots truly separates her from others at her position. She is also a terrific passer and can be a lockdown defender as well. Miles is the type of player that can go out and score 30 points any given night, or she can score five and have just as big of an impact on the game with her ability to get others involved and make other players better.”

    • Started in all six games and averaged 5.2 points and 7.5 assists to help Team USA to a 6-0 record and gold medal in Chile
