David Beauchem 2022-23 Cross Country Staff
Operations Specialist, Track & Field
With 20 years of NCAA Division I head coaching experience, David Beauchem was named the University of Notre Dame Cross Country / Track and Field in March of 2022. With 20 years of NCAA Division I Head Coaching experience, Beauchem will be charged with handling Team Travel, Home Meet Management, and Team Communication for the Fighting Irish Cross Country / Track & Field Program.
Prior to arriving at Notre Dame, Beauchem served for over 6 years as the Director of Operations with the Florida State University Cross Country / Track and Field Program (2015-22). While at FSU he was an instrumental part of 10 ACC Team Championships, 4 NCAA top-10 Team Finishes, and 12 NCAA top-20 Team Finishes. He also has served as the Assistant Cross Country / Track and Field Coach at Southern Illinois (2014-15), four seasons as the Head Cross Country / Track and Field Coach at Western Illinois (2010-14), which was preceded by a 16-year run in the same position at Bradley University (1994-2010). Between those two stops Beauchem produced numerous Missouri Valley and Summit League champions and all-conference performers.
Beauchem has served in leadership positions with the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as a Conference and Regional Representative, in addition to the a six-year run as the Division I Treasurer. Beauchem also served two years on the NCAA Division I Track & Field Committee (2008-10).
A Byron, IL native, Beauchem is a 1990 graduate of SIU with an undergraduate degree in Recreation, he earned his master’s degree in Leisure Services from Florida State in 1993. Beauchem and his wife, Vicky, have three sons – Justin and Payton Haight and Isaac Beauchem – and a daughter, Marly Beauchem.
