Senior Associate Athletics Director - Facilities, Events & Revenue
Tim Wise joined the University of Notre Dame as the Senior Associate Athletics Director, Facilities, Events and Revenue in January 2022. At Notre Dame, Wise has oversight of facilities, capital projects, event and game management, Warren and Burke Golf courses and Compton Family Ice Arena as well as serves as the sport administrator for the women’s rowing team.
Prior to Notre Dame, Wise served 10 years at the University of Miami overseeing numerous areas: facilities and maintenance, capital projects/construction, facilities master planning, event management and guest services, camps/clinics, risk management and information technology. He also served as the liaison to the Watsco Center and Hard Rock Stadium, and was the sport administrator for Miami’s rowing and soccer teams. In July 2020, he was named to the ACC Rowing Committee and appointed Vice Chair and re-appointed in May 2022.
Wise, who has more than 27 years of experience in college athletics was hired by the University of Wisconsin Athletic Department as assistant athletic director for events and facilities in August 2008. In January 2012, he was named interim associate athletic director and elevated to the senior management team with additional oversight of the University Ridge Golf Course and $125 million in capital projects. He also served in a lead role in administrative coordination of concerts, camps and parking.
Wise had previous stops at the University of Connecticut, Eastern Michigan University, the University of Denver, the Ohio State University, Michigan State University and the University of South Carolina.
Wise has extensive experience working NCAA and conference championship events and serving on committees. At Wisconsin, he served on the Diversity Integration Group and was the representative to the City of Madison and UW Campus Joint Southeast Campus Area Committee. In the past, he served on Connecticut’s Environmental Compliance Team as well as the school’s Environmental Policy Advisory Council. He also served on the NCAA Woman of the Year Selection Committee and the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee, three years as the Vice Chair. Wise earned the University of Denver Center for Multicultural Excellence Outstanding Staff Award in 2002-03.
Wise is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. and served as the President of the local alumni chapter. In 2009-10, Wise graduated from the highly prestigious athletics executive leadership program at the Sports Management Institute. He is a member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association and was named to the Board of Directors in September 2011 and served as President for 2015-16. In February 2017, Wise was named to the Minority Opportunity Athletic Association Board of Directors, and in 2019, he was named to the organization’s Executive Committee and is currently the Vice President. He has participated in the NCAA Leadership Institute Continuing Education Series, the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males, the NACDA Mentoring Institute, the NCAA Diversity Education Training, the NCAA Achieving Communications Success Workshop, the LEAD1 Institute, the 2022-23 LEAD1 Diversity Fellowship Program and is currently in the 2023-24 NCAA Pathways Program. In 2022 Wise was selected to a four-year term on the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Rowing National Committee.
Wise is a 1996 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and earned a masters’ degree in human performance and sport studies from the University of Tennessee in 1998.
