HONORS AND AWARDS

• 2024 NCAA qualifier (100 back, 200 back, 100 fly)

• Ranked in the top 10 in program history in 100 back (3rd – 46.21) and 200 back (6th – 1:42.87)

AS A SOPHOMORE (2023-24)

• Finished third in the 200 back (1:42.29) and 7th in the 100 fly (47.27) at the Tim Welsh Classic. Took second in the 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, and 800 free relay and third in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.
• Placed second in the 100 back (46.26) and fourth in the 200 back (1:43.33) against Princeton and Navy. Also swam four relays
• Had a breakout meet at the Ohio State Fall Invitational
  • Posted a best time in the 100 back and placed second overall (45.79)
  • Posted a best time in the 200 back in a time trial (1:40.35)
  • Notched U.S. Open cuts in two LCM events: 100 back (54.96) and 100 fly (54.11). The latter is a best time as well.
• Notched three third-place finishes against Louisville: 200 medley relay (back), 100 back (47.49) and 200 back (1:45.50). Also finished second in the 400 free relay
• Against Pitt and Penn State, Gentry placed second in the 100 back (46.33), fourth in the 200 back (1:42.98), 10th in the 200 IM (1:50.16) and also competed in the 100 fly (47.75). Was also on two medley relays that placed third
• Won the 100 back (47.41) against Purdue and finished second in the 200 back (1:45.84). Was also a member of the 200 medley and 400 free relays that finished third
• Finished second in the 100 backstroke (47.46) and third in the 200 backstroke (1:46.44) against Wisconsin. Was also a member of a second place 200 medley relay and third place 400 freestyle relay
• Made the C final in both the 50 M and 100 M backstroke at the Phillips 66 National Championships. Placed 20th in the 50 (25.57) and 23rd in the 100 (55.00). Gentry’s prelims time in the 100 backstroke broke the school record (54.82)

AS A FRESHMAN (2022-23)

• Won the C final in the 100 back (46.21), finished 18th in the 200 back (1:42.87), and participated in the 100 fly (47.82) at ACCs
• Earned bronze in the 100 back (48.78) in his first ever college meet (Pitt/Penn State)
• Finished fourth in the 100 back (47.20) at the Ohio State Invitational, made the B final in the 200 back (1:45.29)
• A 1:44.60 200 back performance took second against Navy and Princeton
