LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Peterson Family Head Coach Chris Lindauer has had his swimmers post multiple signature performances since taking the program over in April 2022. On Friday, Lindauer got his first signature team win.
The 17th-ranked Notre Dame men knocked off No. 12 Louisville, 162-138. The Irish are now 5-0 on the season.
Junior Chris Guiliano continues to wow, as he won both of his individual events — 100 free (43.10) and 200 free (1:37.05).
Sophomore Tommy Janton won the 100 back with a time of 46.96, an NCAA B cut. Tanner Filion (47.48) and Marcus Gentry (47.49) gave the Irish a sweep in the event. The three did it again in the 200 back in the same order — Janton (1:43.95), Filion (1:44.87) and Gentry (1:45.50). Janton’s time was another NCAA B cut.
Filion won the 200 IM as well with a time of 1:47.94. Dillon Edge (1:48.51) and Tyler Christianson (1:48.55) took second and third, respectively.
In the diving well, Carlo Lopez Hernandez won the 1-meter with a score of 346.95, while Ben Nguyen took the title in the 3-meter (370.73). Both were season-best showings.
On the women’s side, No. 3 Louisville won the meet 218-82. Highlights include a 1-2 performance in the 100 back by Madelyn Christman (55.07) and Jess Geriane (55.29) and a second-place performance by Christman in the 200 back (1:59.99).
